Right across the street from Impact Hub is the LASALLE College of the Arts. Nestled within is LOWERCASE, a cafe that brings together people, food and art. Potted plants and flyers advertising the latest happenings in the art scene are hanged on kitschy feature wall by the door, as patrons stream into this cosy space bathed in sunlight.
They have classic brunch picks (Eggs Benedict, anyone?), along with snacks like Mozza Cheese Sticks, mains such as Prawn Aglio Olio, and sweet treats like Oreo Cheesecake and an array of pastries. They also have a bar counter and a stage for live bands if you’re looking for some post-work booze and entertainment.

Cups N Canvas

Another artsy spot, this understated cafe is decked out in paintings, old-school furniture, and an industrial-esque decor that’s complete with a photo-worthy brick wall by the counter. Cups N Canvas is known for being a place where you can paint and chill with a cup of coffee all in one space, hence the name.
You don’t have to be an artist to appreciate their tasty food and drinks, though. Mains range from pasta and burgers, to the hearty Big Breakfast plate and other brunch fare. Apart from the usual coffees, get the Sweet Potato Latte if you’re looking to try out something new. This caffeine-free drink is tinged a beautiful shade of purple and finished off with small chunks of sweet potato at the end.

A few doors away, Chocolate Mark handcrafts their drinks using premium melted chocolate and other ingredients. This cafe is a chocolate lover’s delight, with treats ranging from the single-origin hot chocolate to fondues to waffles and even a chocolate dessert pasta (chocolate shaped like pasta and topped with ice cream).
Their savoury dishes include soups like the Boston Clam Chowder and pastas like the Napolitana Linguine, along with sides such as Waffle Fries and Chicken Nuggets, which make for convenient afternoon bites.

Strictly Pancakes, as its name suggests, serves up pancakes all day, with both savoury and sweet creations on their menu. The Garlic Buttered Prawns Pancakes are definitely a highlight, topped with fresh prawns and a deliciously garlicky butter sauce, which pairs perfectly with the light salad on the side.
If you’re craving a sugar high in the middle of the workday, the Bananas-Scotched Pancakes will be right up your alley. The combination of caramelised bananas, vanilla ice cream, and fluffy warm pancakes drenched in rum and maple syrup make for a sinfully decadent treat.

More of a waffle person? Montana might just be your next go-to lunch spot. This cafe looks simple, but it menu sure isn’t. The folks at Montana have reimagined the humble waffle, concocting flavours such as the Bulgogi Beef Waffle, made with a gochujang rice waffle, topped with tender beef and a sous vide egg.
And that’s not all– their creativity has extended to their coffee selection as well, with the intriguing Nitro Coconut Cold Brew, which purportedly makes them the world’s first coconut cold brew specialist. This signature brew is served with a flask of espresso, to be poured over a coconut water ice ball, creating a unique coffee blend laced with the taste of coconut. Your daily coffee can’t get more exciting than this!
